Panoramic Tour



The Peninsula of Itapagipe, at the lower-city highlights the religiosity of the bahian people and the cultural syncretism. The tour is basically by car, concentrated in the lower-city. First we stop at Dique do Tororó (Tororó Dike) for explanations about the Candomblé and the Orixás, as well as its associations to the Catholicism. Than we follow to the Itapagipe peninsula, passing through the São Joaquim open market, the train station, Ribeira Beach until the Bonfim Church. At Bonfim is possible to watch a catholic mass and be blessed by candomblé practitioners outside the church. The stores both sells catholic figures as well as candomblé elements. After leaving Bonfim, we continue to Montserrat Fort and enjoy a panoramic view to the upper-city. The tour finishes at Mercado Modelo (Handcraft Market), the old customs of the Capital of the Colony.
